The movie 'ALIEN' premiered in 1979 featuring one of the most terrifying creatures created by surrealist painter H.R. GIGER.   When I was 10,

I saw the original theatrical release and immediately fell in love and appreciated (even as a child) the incredible universe director

 RIDLEY SCOTT had envisioned.  The 'ALIEN' has come to be one of the most recognizable monsters of all time.

 I created this costume for my younger son who also loves the movie and wasn't frightened by
its nightmarish world.  To achieve the vision of the 'ALIEN', a variety of materials were

used to capture its 'BIO-MECHANICAL' appearance. Parts from Halloween

costumes, corrugated tubing, various types of foam and other items were

utilized. This 'ALIEN' costume has become one of my favorite works

but it will probably not be my only attempt in its construction.
